Pleaux est une commune française, située dans le département du Cantal en région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.Elle a la particularité, à la suite de la fusion de 1973, d'avoir un territoire discontinu, Tourniac étant séparé du reste de la commune par les communes voisines de Barriac-les-Bosquets et Rilhac-Xaintrie . Pendant longtemps, elle fut la plus vaste commune du Cantal.
