Hérouville-Saint-Clair est une commune française située dans le département du Calvados en région Normandie, peuplée de 22 555 habitants .Village en périphérie de Caen nommé Hérouville jusqu'en 1957, il accueille sur son territoire dans les années 1960 la construction d'une ville nouvelle, entraînant la multiplication par 13 en vingt ans de sa population, devenant à la fin du XXe siècle la seconde ville du département, rang disputé avec Lisieux à la suite du tassement de la démographie lors des années 2000.
