Chambourg-sur-Indre est une commune française du département d'Indre-et-Loire en région Centre-Val de Loire.
Peut-être déjà occupé dès le Néolithique, le site ne conserve cependant que les vestiges d'un établissement datant de l’époque romaine : un aqueduc, une villa, une voie. Viguerie puis fief médiéval, Chambourg devient commune en 1789, au terme d'un échange de hameaux jusqu'alors indivis avec sa voisine Chédigny. Les crues de l'Indre, toujours à craindre en 2014, n'ont jamais dissuadé les hommes de s'implanter définitivement à Chambourg jusque sur les bords de la rivière.
