Le Vast est une commune française, située dans le département de la Manche en région Normandie, peuplée de 326 habitants.Le Vast est situé dans la vallée de la Saire, sur le passage de la voie romaine reliant Alauna à Barfleur au croisement des routes Barfleur-Cherbourg-Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue. Il fait partie du canton de Saint-Pierre-Église depuis 1800. De 1790 à 1800, Le Vast faisait partie du canton de Quettehou, dont Jean Le Petit était président administratif. Sa superficie est de 1 304 hectares.
