Située dans l'Entre-deux-Mers,, sur la rive droite de la Garonne, au sud-est de Bordeaux, dans son aire et son unité urbaine, Bouliac présente un excellent point de vue sur l'agglomération bordelaise, depuis les hauteurs de l'esplanade de l'église Saint-Siméon.
