Val-d'Isère est une commune française du département de la Savoie et de la région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
Petit village de haute montagne du massif de la Vanoise en Haute-Tarentaise, isolé notamment pendant les périodes de neige durant son passé, Val-d'Isère devient, grâce au développement du ski à partir des années 1930, une station de sports d'hiver dont la renommée fait d'elle l'une des capitales mondiales du ski.
