L'église initiale de Sahorre est attestée dès 869 dans un acte indiquant qu'elle appartenait à l'abbaye Ste Marie d'Arles. Cette église initiale fut remplacée par une autre de style roman durant le XIIe siècle. Dédiée à St Etienne, elle suit un plan à nef unique terminée par une abside semi-circulaire. Elle a un clocher de 19m de haut.
