La place de Jaude est située dans le centre de Clermont-Ferrand, juste à l'est du centre ancien et de la butte de Clermont. Devenue principalement piétonne, elle peut-être traversée en voiture en son centre par la rue Blatin à l'ouest et le boulevard Desaix à l'est et au sud par l'avenue Julien. L'unique ligne du tramway clermontois traverse la place du nord au sud et plusieurs lignes de bus la desservent.
