Le site de Roquefort est occupé de façon continue du Néolithique au Moyen Age. La maison forte qui y est érigée en 1291/1293 comprend une tour et une basse cour, le logis principal étant réalisé un peu plus tard. De cette structure défensive ne subsiste qu'une partie du donjon. Le nouveau château est élevé à proximité de la forteresse médiévale au cours du XVIIIème siècle. Le colombier, restauré, comprend un linteau sculpté daté de 1715. La propriété de Roquefort a été achetée par la famille Bellanger qui y a planté plus de cent hectares de vignes.
