Il fut construit au début du XXe siècle sur un terrain légué par le Capitaine François Mazon pour les enfants de Biarritz, Ce jardin public qui avait beaucoup souffert des nombreux usages plus ou moins contrôlés, a été totalement rénové en 2003 en respectant l’intention du donateur. Le Parc Mazon a été rénové tout en conservant son aspect d’origine. Cependant, les allées ont été reconstruites pour être entièrement accessibles aux handicapés, aux personnes à mobilité réduite et aux poussettes.
