Un lieu où le silence est plus bruyant que le chant des oiseaux. L'étang du Bischwald est connu par les ornithologues pour l'avifaune riche et diversifiée qu'il accueille tout au long de l'année. Le site forme un vaste complexe écologique, constitué de l'étang et des zones humides alentour, de la Nied du Bischwald et de ses nombreux petits affluents, du marais de Lelling, de prairies humides ponctuées de mares, le tout bordé par des forêts. Une havre de paix pour la faune et flore locale.
