Le mamelon du Mus, est situé à 114 m d'altitude. L'ancien castrum comprend deux enceintes distinctes renfermées l'une dans l'autre. Cette première enceinte, est bâtie l'église du Mus, avec la maison voisine du même nom, ancienne caverie. A proximité de cet ancien camp gallo romain, on peut apercevoir le Château privé de Candale, datant du XVIème siècle dont les 4 façades sont de style Henri IV.
