Sainte-Ménehould est une ville à la fois pittoresque et accueillante. Autrefois nommée Château sur Aisne, la cité doit son nom à Manehildis qui se distingua par sa bonté au Vème siècle.
Dom Pérignon y est né en 1639. Louis XVI y passa le 21 juin 1791. La ville fut entièrement détruite par un incendie en 1719 et reconstruite à partir de 1728 dans un ensemble architectural du XVIIIème siècle.
A proximité, les sites argonnais témoignent de la 1ère guerre mondiale et le site historique de la bataille de Valmy sont incontournables.
