En 1741, un filon de charbon est découvert à Littry, prélude d'une intense activité industrielle, durant 200 ans, dans ce bourg paisible. Dans une scénographie entièrement rénovée en 2021, le Musée de la Mine relate cette activité minière: outils anciens, pompe à feu des frères Périer (1800), unique en France, reconstitution d’une galerie de mine, maquette de la fosse n°5 de Bruay, fouilles archéologiques...
