Située aux frontières belge et luxembourgeoise, la Ville de Longwy s'illustre notamment pour ses fortifications prestigieuses érigées par Vauban, inscrites sur la Liste du Patrimoine Mondial de l'Unesco. Longwy est connue et reconnue pour son savoir-faire dans l'artisanat d'art des faïences et émaux, une activité céramique qui s'est développée aux XIXe et XXe siècles. Une très belle collection issue de cette production orne le musée municipal depuis 1975 ; la richesse et la variété de ces œuvres seront présentées, prochainement, au sein du nouveau Musée de Longwy-Bas.
