L’association Théophane Vénard ouvre au public la maison natale de Saint Théophane Vénard, située dans la grand’rue qui porte son nom. Outre le caractère architectural et patrimonial de cette maison ancienne, le visiteur y découvre des objets de culte ayant appartenu au Saint, ainsi que d’autres objets liés à sa famille. Théophane Vénard habita Saint-Loup-sur-Thouet au XIXe siècle, avant de partir au Tonkin pour y porter la foi. Mort en martyr en 1861, il est canonisé en 1988 par le pape Jean-Paul II. Le musée est ouvert du mercredi au dimanche, de 15 h à 18 h, en juillet / août. En dehors de la période estivale, notamment pour les groupes, ouvertures et visites sur demandes : 05 49 63 53 32 ou 06 80 90 20 51.
