Gunsbach, village de 920 habitants, remonte à 1278, son nom évoquant un ruisseau marécageux ou associé à un nommé Guno. Il fut lié aux Hattstatt puis aux Ribeaupierre. Connu mondialement grâce au Dr Albert Schweitzer, sa maison est aujourd'hui un musée visité par des milliers de personnes chaque année. À voir : l'église simultanée, la Mairie datant de 1570, l'ancien presbytère et le monument dédié à Albert Schweitzer. Parmi les attractions, le sentier Albert Schweitzer, la balade de l'eau et le musée africain sont des incontournables pour comprendre l'héritage du prix Nobel de la Paix.
