Gunsbach, pueblo de 920 habitantes, data de 1278, su nombre evoca un arroyo pantanoso o se asocia a un hombre llamado Guno. Estuvo vinculado a la familia Hattstatt y después a la familia Ribeaupierre. Famosa en el mundo entero gracias al doctor Albert Schweitzer, su casa es hoy un museo visitado por miles de personas cada año. Las atracciones incluyen la iglesia simultánea, el ayuntamiento que data de 1570, el antiguo presbiterio y el monumento dedicado a Albert Schweitzer.
