Acle est une petite ville de marché sur la rivière Bure dans les Broads de Norfolk, située à mi-chemin entre Norwich et Great Yarmouth. Elle possède le seul pont traversant la rivière Bure entre Wroxham et Great Yarmouth. Il y a un lycée dans la ville.
La paroisse civile couvre une superficie de 9,46 km² et en 2001, elle comptait une population de 2 732 habitants dans 1 214 ménages, passant à une population de 2 824 habitants dans 1 285 ménages lors du recensement de 2011. Pour les besoins du gouvernement local, la paroisse fait partie de la zone du district de Broadland.
