Llanbryn-mair est un village et la zone qui l'entoure dans le comté gallois de Powys, sur la route A470 entre Caersws et Machynlleth. La région de Llanbryn-mair est la deuxième plus grande du comté ; en 2005, elle comptait une population de 958 personnes.
La communauté comprend plusieurs hameaux : Talerddig, Dolfach, Tafolwern, Pandy, Bont Dolgadfan, Cringoed, Pennant, Wern-Gerhynt, Tafolog et Dylife. Le centre historique est à Llan, sur la route de Llanidloes, avec une petite église paroissiale dédiée à Sainte Marie. Le centre actuel du village, à l'intersection de l'A470 et de la B4518 à Llanidloes, est devenu la capitale de la commune grâce à la nouvelle route à péage de 1821 et à l'arrivée du train en 1861. La Cambrian Line traverse encore le village, mais la gare a été fermée en 1965 dans le cadre de fermetures généralisées causées par le rapport Beeching.
