La gare de Comber était sur la Belfast and County Down Railway qui reliait Belfast à Newcastle, County Down en Irlande du Nord.
La gare a été ouverte par la Belfast and County Down Railway le 6 mai 1850 en tant que station avant-dernière sur la ligne originale à voie unique vers Newtownards.
Avec l'ouverture de la branche vers Ballygowan et Downpatrick en 1958, elle est devenue une jonction. La branche de Newtownards a finalement été prolongée jusqu'à Donaghadee et la ligne de Downpatrick jusqu'à Newcastle.
