La A684 est une route A qui traverse le Cumbria et le North Yorkshire, commençant à Kendal, Cumbria et se terminant à Ellerbeck et la route A19 dans le North Yorkshire. Elle traverse toute la largeur des Yorkshire Dales, passant par Garsdale et la longueur complète de Wensleydale.
Les inondations peuvent poser problème après de fortes pluies, surtout à Appersett, près de Hawes, et la neige abondante peut fermer temporairement la route au Black Horse hill et à Garsdale.
