L'assassin était « devenu obsédé par les musulmans » et « a prévu et conduit cette attaque en raison de sa haine des musulmans », d'après la sentence du tribunal qui le condamne à l'emprisonnement à perpétuité pour cette attaque terroriste islamophobe,.
