La bataille de Stainmore est un affrontement hypothétique qui aurait eu lieu en 954 et aurait vu la mort du dernier roi viking d'York, Éric Hache-de-Sang.
Les sources concernant la mort d'Éric ne s'accordent pas entre elles. Les historiens anglais médiévaux Siméon de Durham et Roger de Wendover indiquent simplement qu'il est mort en exil, le second précisant qu'il a été assassiné à Stainmore par un certain Maccus, identifié comme un fils putatif Olaf Gothfrithson après avoir été trahi par le comes Osulf. En revanche, les sagas nordiques affirment qu'Éric est mort au combat en Angleterre ; l'Ágrip af Nóregskonungasögum et l'Historia Norwegiae indiquent qu'il est mort durant une incursion en Espagne.
