Spinalonga est un îlot forteresse et une presqu’île situés en Crète à l’entrée ouest du golfe de Mirabello face à la ville d’Elounda, non loin d’Agios Nikolaos dans le district régional du Lassithi.
L'île est également appelée Kalydon, tandis que la presqu'île est appelée presqu'île de Kolokitha. Cette longue presqu'île aride et inhabitée était rattachée jadis à la côte par l'isthme de Poros, qui fut percé en 1897 par des marins français, ce qui en fit donc une île. Lors du siège de l’îlot forteresse de Spinalonga, la pointe nord fut utilisée par les Turcs, pour la bombarder.L'île est une zone protégée.
