Le naufrage de l'Olympia a coulé en février 1980. Le capitaine cherchait un endroit près de la côte où ils pourraient trouver refuge contre les forts vents du nord. Mais ils étaient impuissants et la mer agitée les a jetés dans la baie de Liverio près de la plage de Kalotaritissa. Heureusement, tout l'équipage a été sauvé. Le naufrage apparaît dans de nombreuses scènes du film "Le Grand Bleu" de Luc Besson. C'est aussi un site de plongée populaire sur l'île.
