La section du sentier du canyon entre le pont et la petite chapelle est sans aucun doute l'un des plus beaux sentiers de randonnée de la région. Le chemin est indiqué par des flèches rouges. Et ici, vous mettez littéralement le pied dans les traces du passé. C'est ce chemin qui était une 'issue' vers la sécurité pour les habitants d'Ermioni. Et la notion d'"issue" est ce que signifie Katafyki, le nom du gouffre. Ce sentier original mène vers Épidaure, Kazarma, Tirynthe et Mycènes. C'était aussi l'endroit où de nombreux villageois d'Ermioni se cachaient des raids brutaux des Turcs et des pirates dans le passé.
