La bataille de Carlow a eu lieu dans la ville de Carlow, en Irlande, le 25 mai 1798, lorsque les rebelles de Carlow se sont soulevés en soutien à la révolte de 1798, qui avait commencé la veille dans le comté de Kildare. L'organisation des Irlandais unis à Carlow, dirigée par un jeune fabriquant de brogues nommé Mick Heydon, qui avait pris le leadership après l'arrestation du précédent leader, Peter Ivers, arrêté avec plusieurs autres Irlandais unis de premier plan chez Oliver Bond en mars de cette année-là, s'était rassemblée dans la nuit du 24 et s'était mise en route à l'aube pour attaquer la ville du comté. Ramassant d'autres volontaires en chemin, leur nombre atteignit environ 1 200, ils marchèrent complètement sans opposition.
