L'abbaye d'Imlech Ibuir était le plus important monastère du royaume de Munster , l'un des cinq royaumes d'Irlande. Son nom signifie « les rives du lac des ifs ». C'est aujourd'hui la petite paroisse d'Emly située dans la baronnie de Clanwilliam, dans le comté de Tipperary.
L'abbaye devait son importance à Saint Ailbe, un moine du VIe siècle qui fonda le monastère vers 510, devint le saint patron du royaume de Muman, donna son nom à une loi adoptée à la fin du VIIIe siècle, et aurait baptisé à Porth Clais Saint David, le futur saint patron du Pays de Galles.
