Portroe est un village du comté de Tipperary, en Irlande. Le village est situé sur la route régionale R494, à 3 km de la côte est du Lough Derg et à 10 km à l'ouest de la ville de Nenagh. Portroe s'étend sur les terres de Garrykennedy, Glencrue et Shesharoe.
Le Portroe GAA est le club local de l'Association athlétique gaélique. Une équipe senior de hurling, représentant Portroe, a remporté son tout premier titre de hurling senior du Nord Tipperary en 2012 au McDonagh Park à Nenagh. Liam Sheedy, qui a joué au hurling en club avec Portroe et au hurling inter-comté avec Tipperary, a été deux fois l'entraîneur de l'équipe de hurling de Tipperary.
