Palestrina, ou Préneste en français, est une commune italienne d'environ 22 000 habitants, située dans la province de Rome dans la région Latium, dans le centre de l'Italie.
Située dans la province de Rome, région du Latium, Palestrina est située à 450 m d'altitude. Sa superficie est de 47 km2 et avec 21 600 habitants, elle présente une densité de 458 h/km2 et est à 15 km de Colloferro et à 33 km de Rome en amont dans la vallée terminale du Tibre à sa sortie des Anti-Apennins, série de collines allongées du nord au sud, d'origine volcanique à l'est.
