Palestrina è un comune italiano di 21 942 abitanti della città metropolitana di Roma Capitale nel Lazio, situata lungo la via Prenestina, a cui ha dato il nome, in quanto l'antico nome della città era Praeneste.
Palestrina sorge sulle pendici del monte Ginestro, una delle sommità dei monti Prenestini, tra i bacini dei fiumi Sacco e Aniene.
Il territorio comunale è orograficamente eterogeneo, in quanto si passa dai 660 m s.l.m. del quartiere Scacciato fino ai 350 m s.l.m. delle frazioni a valle.
