Sarzana , en latin Sergiana ou Sergianum, est une commune italienne d'environ 22 000 habitants, située dans la province de La Spezia, dans la région Ligurie, dans le nord-ouest de l'Italie. Elle a été chef-lieu d'arrondissement du département des Apennins en 1805.
Le nom Sarzana, dérivé du latin Sergiana, provient vraisemblablement du nom d'un propriétaire terrien de l'époque romaine du nom de Sergius. Ce nom, contrairement à une étymologie populaire, n'a donc rien à voir avec de prétendus occupants Sarrazins inconnus de l'histoire.
