Située dans le Forum de l'ancienne Fesulae, elle a une forme irrégulière, en double trapèze, et s'ouvre à la fois sur les symboles du pouvoir religieux et temporel. La moitié ouest est en effet dominée par la cathédrale, le Palais Épiscopal et le Séminaire, tandis que la moitié est, plus élevée, est dominée par le Palais Prétorien et l'église de Santa Maria Primerana, ainsi que par le monument à la Rencontre de Teano, œuvre en bronze d'Oreste Calzolari qui montre Vittorio Emanuele II et Garibaldi à cheval.
