L’ancienne abbaye d'Echternach, était un monastère de moines bénédictin sis au bord de la Sûre, à Echternach au Luxembourg. Cofondé au VIIe siècle par saint Willibrord et sainte Irmina d'Œren, il fut supprimé lors de l’occupation française à la fin du XVIIIe siècle. Centre de pèlerinages au tombeau de saint Willibrord , l’ancienne église abbatiale est pillée par la soldatesque française en 1795. Reconstruite en 1868, elle est basilique mineure depuis 1939. Détruit en partie lors de la Bataille des Ardennes en décembre 1944, l'édifice actuel date de 1953.
