Le château de Hoensbroek ou Gebrookhoes (Château de Gebrook) est l'un des plus grands châteaux des Pays-Bas. La partie la plus ancienne du château, à savoir la haute tour ronde, date d'environ 1360, lorsque Herman Hoen l'a rénové. En 1225, il y avait déjà un prédécesseur dans ce marais (ou gebrook), un soi-disant motte-castel. En 1250, une maison fortifiée a été construite à l'emplacement de l'actuel château. En raison de son emplacement très stratégique pour le Brabant le long des importantes routes commerciales vers Maastricht, Aix-la-Chapelle et Cologne, le château a été agrandi par phases successives pour devenir la plus grande forteresse entre la Meuse et le Rhin. Il contient 67 salles, appartements et espaces.
