Le moulin a été construit en 1893 pour remplacer un moulin à pivot au même endroit. Divers éléments de l'ancien moulin ont été intégrés dans le nouveau moulin à vent en pierre ronde. Dès les années trente du vingtième siècle, le moulin est devenu hors service et a été aménagé en café-restaurant. Pour cela, les meules ont été retirées. Le moulin a été dotée d'une plateforme d'observation dans le toit et a également été appelé le Moulin Panoramique. La passerelle du moulin a servi de terrasse.
