Le château Erenstein du XIVe siècle est situé dans la vallée d'Anstel et doit son nom au premier occupant, le chevalier Adam d'Ederen. Il a choisi cet endroit stratégique - sur la route commerciale entre Cologne et Bruges - pour percevoir des péages à la passerelle sur l'Anstelerbeek. Dans le jardin du château, où vous vous promenerez plus loin dans cet itinéraire, se trouve le buste de Gabriël Grupello. Cet éminent sculpteur flamand a passé les dernières années de sa vie dans le château et est décédé ici en 1730. Aujourd'hui, le château Erenstein est un restaurant.
