La ville dévastée est une sculpture qu'Ossip Zadkine a réalisée à la suite du bombardement de Rotterdam. Elle a été révélée le 15 mai 1953 et se trouve sur le Plein 1940, au Leuvehaven, à côté du Musée maritime de Rotterdam. Cette œuvre est un monument national.
La sculpture est en bronze et représente une figure humaine sans cœur, symbole du cœur de Rotterdam qui a été perdu lors du bombardement. La sculpture veut incarner la souffrance humaine que devait subir une ville qui, avec la grâce de Dieu, voulait simplement vivre et fleurir comme une forêt. Un cri d'horreur face à la cruauté inhumaine de ce massacre.
Au fil des ans, la sculpture a reçu plusieurs surnoms de la part des Rotterdamois. En plus de "La ville dévastée", elle est connue sous les noms de "Ville sans cœur" et "Jan Gat".
