Booneschans est un hameau qui fait partie de la commune d'Oldambt dans la province néerlandaise de Groningue.Le hameau est situé sur le site où un retranchement a été construit par les troupes espagnoles en 1584. Il s'agissait de sécuriser la région de Groningue pendant la guerre de quatre-vingts ans. Le premier retranchement ne devait pas être très visible : il apparaît bien sur une carte de Cornelius Adgerus de 1587 mais plus sur la carte dessinée par Autonius Brunij du nord du Westerwolde en 1590, ni sur les cartes dessinées du début du XVIIe siècle.
