Plaque commémorative dans la Lambertuskerk, Dorpsstraat Mheer
La plaque de l’église Saint-Lambert de Mheer est en pierre naturelle noire. La plaque est ornée d’un lettrage doré. Dans le coin inférieur droit se trouve une photo de Jacques Berndsen. La plaque est accrochée dans le porche de l’église H. Lambertus sur la Dorpsstraat à Mheer.
La plaque a été érigée à la mémoire de Jacques Berndsen, tué lors des interventions policières dans les anciennes Indes orientales néerlandaises.
Jacques Leo Maria Berndsen est né le 14 juin 1925 à Mheer. Le soldat (affecté au 1-3-14 RI) est tué le 3 janvier 1949 à Tjikatomas. Il est enterré au cimetière de guerre néerlandais de Menteng Pulo à Jakarta.
