Le 23 septembre 2005, une statue du chanteur populaire André Hazes a été inaugurée sur le marché Albert Cuyp, dans la rue Albert Cuyp. Hazes a passé son enfance à De Pijp. Son talent de chanteur a été découvert en 1959 par Johnny Kraaijkamp sr., lorsque André chantait sur le marché Albert Cuyp.
