Le cimetière juif à Diemen appartient à la communauté juive hochdeutsch d'Amsterdam et a été créé au début du 20ème siècle, lorsque le cimetière de Zeeburg était plein. Le cimetière a été ouvert en 1914. En 1925, le terrain a été divisé pour la construction d'une ligne de chemin de fer.
Il est remarquable de constater la présence d'urnes dans ce cimetière. Ces urnes proviennent de personnes qui ont été crémées à Westerbork pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. La crémation est inhabituelle dans le judaïsme. Ces urnes sont enterrées dans le Champ U.
