La place Berkel est une place dans la ville de Valkenburg, municipalité de Valkenburg aan de Geul, dans la province néerlandaise de Limbourg. La place est située au sud-est juste en dehors de la vieille ville dans le quartier de Neerhem.
La place se trouve à environ 150 mètres à l'est de la porte Berkel, qui porte le nom d'un certain Heinric van Birckelaer, propriétaire du fief de Nederheim et habitant du château Den Halder. Environ à l'emplacement de la place Berkel se trouvait jusqu'au 17ème siècle le fossé urbain oriental, qui sur place portait le nom de Berkelwijer. Le moyen néerlandais 'wijer' signifie étang ou mare.
