À cet endroit se dressait autrefois une tour, mais avec une fonction totalement différente, à savoir une tour de guet. Les fondations en sont encore clairement visibles dans le sable.
Comme c'est le point le plus haut des Maasduinen, le conseil municipal a de nouveau choisi cet emplacement en concertation.
Une fois en haut de la tour, un panorama sans égal se déploie.
