Le parc frontalier de Kalmthoutse Heide est une zone de bruyère située en partie sur le sol néerlandais et en partie sur le sol flamand. La région contient des bruyères sèches et humides, des étangs, des dunes de terre et de vastes forêts. La nature et les petites zones agricoles s'alternent. Des espèces d'oiseaux particulières comme le coucou de nuit, le piet-van-de-vooruit et le pipit des arbres se sentent chez elles dans le parc frontalier.
