Wałbrzych est une ville de Pologne située en Silésie , près de la frontière tchèque. Wałbrzych a le statut de powiat-ville et est en outre le chef-lieu du powiat de Wałbrzych.Jusqu'en 1742, Wałbrzych fait partie du royaume de Bohême, possession des Habsbourg d'Autriche ; elle devient alors prussienne, puis allemande en 1871.
