L’hôtel de ville d’Audenarde a été construit au 16ème siècle et a été construit dans le style gothique tardif brabançon par l’architecte Hendrik van Pede, maître d’œuvre de Bruxelles. Le beffroi de 40 m de haut est couronné par la figure légendaire de Hanske le guerrier, une statue de soldat en cuivre de 2 m de haut avec la bannière de la ville. Il contient, bien sûr, une importante collection de verdures, mais aussi de l’argenterie et des peintures d’Adriaan Brouwer, l’artiste le plus célèbre d’Audenarde. L’Office Municipal de Tourisme (un petit musée à part entière) est situé dans l’Hôtel de Ville.
