Il s'agit d'une Pôle kilomètre (Borne) de la Voie de la Liberté, construit en 1948 comme un souvenir impérissable de la libération de l'Europe.
La route relie la Normandie à la bataille des Ardennes à Bastogne. L'itinéraire complet est à Routeyou constituée comme itinéraire moteur nommé Voie de la Liberté et comme piste cyclable avec extension aux Pays-Bas (Wageningen) en dix parties appelées VDLAV (voie de la Liberté à vélo).
