Schattwald è un comune con 455 abitanti nel distretto di Reutte in Tirolo ed è l'ultimo o il più occidentale paese nella valle di Tannheim, attraversata dal fiume Vils. Si trova a est del passo Oberjoch, che conduce a Bad Hindelang, quindi si trova leggermente a est del confine con la Germania.
